Brian J. Dowd has had 10 years experience
working as an Attorney-Advisor at the West Des Moines, Iowa Office of
Hearings and Appeals, in the Social Security Administration. Most
of the cases with which he dealt involved Disability Law. This
afforded him the opportunity to understand the disability process from
the inside, and led him to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of
the claimant's case, and of the reasoning used by the judges in
deciding the cases before them. The issues in disability can be
complex at times, and this background permitted him to come to an
understanding of those issues in the process of dealing with many
hundreds of cases.
Mr. Dowd can apply this level of experience in representing clients who
have been denied benefits when they appear before an Administrative Law
Judge for a hearing on their Social Security claim. For both
Title II claims (Social Security Disability Insurance) and Title XVI
claims (Supplemental Security Income) Mr. Dowd can represent you
before, during, and after the Social Security hearing level.
Brian Dowd graduated with honors from Drake University Law School in
Des Moines, Iowa.
